Welcome to my new post. What do you like to do on Sundays? Today, on Sunday, I did not do any papercraft, DIY, etc., so I will not talk about it now. I enjoy cleaning the house during the holidays or spending time with my family.
This Sunday, I helped my father paint metal. New Year is coming soon in Myanmar, where I live. In the days leading up to the New Year, most people start cleaning their house, throwing away old things, and painting their houses.
Rust is starting to rise on the roofs of our homes. The metal is also exposed to rainwater and has not been painted for three years. I think that's why the rust is coming up. At this time when rust is starting to build up on those metals, if we do not clean it in time, it will only get worse over time.
This type of coating can cost a little money and can cost more if those metals are damaged. What do you think?
When the metal was first installed, workers used a red oxide primer. Today my father and I used a red oxide primer to repaint those metals. My father also bought turpentine to mix with this red oxide primer.
My dad bought the paint a week ago. This red oxide primer one costs about $ 10.8 in our country. How much is it in your country?
I was not good at mixing red oxide primer with turpentine, so my father did it. Red oxide primers are so abundant that it is inconvenient to mix them all with turpentine. So my dad put some turpentine in an old can first. Then my dad added as much red oxide primer as he needed and mixed it all up.
In the past, I have also helped to paint the tables in the dormitory. So painting metal now is not new to me, so it was not difficult. I mainly painted the bottom of the metal. Clothes cannot be washed properly when exposed to these painting colors. I had to take care of that too.
My father used a paint roller to paint very high places. I think using a paint roller is faster than using a paint brush. However, using a paint roller costs more primers.
Before,
After,
Before painting, metals were very ugly with rust. After painting, the metals become brighter and rust is less visible. I helped my father paint these rusty metals, but we could not finish them in one day. I think we can finish it tomorrow.
Thank you for reading my blog.
