Do you earn quick money? Well, Hive is quick enough but I'm not earning much from here like I always hope for whales to discover my post to earn above a dollar if not boosted by me but that does not happen a lot. Also, I got busier these days in work and had lots of distractions.
I hope you all have good earnings from here.
Last week, I had the opportunity to earn a quick money which I needed most to buy some of my daughter's needs.
Day One
Sir Raymund had a sow that had given birth to 11 piglets on August 5 and asked mam Rona to give the piglets the care they should have but she was too busy and asked me and Angelle instead. I only went for fun, I miss working on a piggery farm and I don't even mind if I get paid or not.
The boss has a " do this thing right now" aura so Rona was making us go faster. Angelle and I had Sir Fonzy drive us to his farm using Sir Loel's car.
As we traveled the clouds gathered in the sky and they looked so beautiful!
The clouds look darker here due to tinted glass
Im in the mood for selfie and my camera favored me. In my bag were syringes and blades and alcohol, just a few necessities for us to do our work there.
As we arrived, the sight that greeted us was the pregnant sow but the Momma pig and her babies were on the other pen
The mother had to be put in a cage to avoid squashing her piglets. A lot has happened on the farm and some unfortunate piglets don't survive. Sows weigh up to 200 kilos while the piglets only weigh less than a kilo when born.
That's Angelle and Fonzy
However, what amazed me on this trip most is that the piglets were monitored thru a CCTV!
The tenant's son attended to us and we asked for the tools from him. They only have the tooth clipper and syringes and oxytocin. So we called the owner and asked for the iron supplement. Good thing he was still in Alae and was on his way already.
While waiting for him, Sir Fonz told us to get santol. Have you eaten this before?
Drool, baby.😁
He used to eat them when he was younger and the tenant's son took some for us. I even caught Angelle trying to open the fruit using her hand and squishing with the help of her legs
Teeth Clipping, Iron supplementation, and Tail Docking
Piglet's teeth should be clipped three days(some farms do this on 7th day, depending on the farm's practice) after being farrowed to avoid them from hurting their momma with their sharp teeth.
Can you imagine all your teeth being clipped? I think it hurts too much and the pain is unimaginable. But here I am, doing it to the piglets like it doesn't hurt.
The piglets are very loud, of course, because it hurts a whole lot! Not only their teeth were clipped, their tails were also cut and were injected with a 0.5mL shot. But the piglets are warriors and they had high pain tolerance, after the operation, they all just slept it off.
The piglets are too big that their tails had too much blood after cutting.
The next day, Angelle told me that Sir Raymund sent her 1,000 pesos ($18+) in her Gcash account for us to share.
Day two
11 days later, Angelle came to me asking to go to the farm again to castrate the piglets. This time We had Thommy to drive us to Sir Raymund's farm with his Baobao/Bajaj/Tuktuk.
I brought my all-time favorite tool: the cutter blade knife and cut them into small pieces for safety while working with the pigs.
Mam Rona even gave me a
n extra shirt so that I will not smell like a boar when I return to our workplace. There were only five male piglets that we will be working with and Sir Raymund asked someone from his daily staff to assist us in holding the piglets.
The piglets were too old to be castrated; they are strong, too strong for anyone to hold still yet Angelle and I still did it pretty well.
In castrating, one can choose whether they do a single slit or a double slit cut when taking off the pig's balls.
I can't imagine how much it hurts. Good thing vasectomy in human happens only with a cut on some tubes and not take the thing they had.
Angelle did a double split with one piglet while I did a single slit on four of the piglets yet we both needed to do a suture in all of them to avoid further damage and infection. Also, we injected them with antibiotics for prevention.
This is the only picture taken during our work, everybody got busy and now I regret not being able to record a memoir.
The work was easy and fast yet the smell it left in our hands took me a day to remove no matter how many washes and alcohol I did.
The next day, Angelle told me Sir Raymund sent her 1500 pesos, it felt too much for an easy job done. Well, maybe he did not see it easy that's why he gave more than enough. We discussed on how we divide the money and agreed that we give 100 pesos to Thommy for driving us, 400 pesos to the officemates where Angelle belongs because they knew there would be money given to us; and Angelle and I had 1,000 pesos each.
Honestly, I was looking forward to rendering my service to him when the other sow will farrow someday.
I really look forward to jobs like this though online jobs may sound more safe and sure. Do you know any online jobs? I really think I need one. But working with pigs makes me happy too, It allows me to practice my profession and have new adventures.
To summarize, we both earned 2,500 pesos (more or less $46) in just two days. Easy and quick money, eh? I wish it happens often.
School has started and the money I earned from this activity is going to help me a lot. I hope to share with you how I spent the money on my next blog. This will be all for now, see you around and keep safe. Till then!
