What a ride, and how proud and fulfilled I feel, making this anniversary of my joining Steemit/ PeakD/ Ecency and the Hive.blogβ¦ What a great deal has changed in my life and work since I began, and how much more secure I am in my self and in my life purpose, than when I heard about Steemit from my friend Anja Schutzβ¦
I wanted to reflect on the full 6 sun-revolutions, but thinking back to 2019, yuck β those are years that I am VERY glad have passed. The lock-down, my Art. being censored extensively and my creative business branches atrophying and falling from the treeβ¦ and my social circles and community support showing similarly extremely worrying signs of diminishment.
But it is important to reflect on how far we have come in any particular phase in life: appreciating our own growth and development periodically is central to happiness, satisfaction, and freedom. Though I experienced some of the harshest moments of my adult life in the past 6 years, especially compared to my current heavenly existence with my LifeLove partner , I can feel the value in how my Will has been challenged by the darker stuff.
I think back into how unrooted I was in early 2019, even if I lived in my own home (paid for in full), had a relatively good income from doing creative things that I loved (painting and running successful artist residencies), and was very well connected, locally and internationally. My social medias still showed a significant presence online, and I felt βseenβ.
How different a few months made, as Italy led the world in closures of movement, expression and communications⦠My life was turned upside down by the sudden intolerance (by everyone, it seemed!) to staple ideas and creative expression that were my whole Being: suddenly and swiftly, clients unsubscribed, platforms locked me out, and friends stopped inviting me to⦠well⦠anything.
This is when my online life changed dramatically, and my energy enthusiastically poured towards the decentralised and crypto dimensions. It was a great good joy for me, that just when it felt like βthe worldβ was closing to me, another MUCH MORE REAL World was unexpectedly opening up!
This is one of the most potent themes of my life - the darkest hour being before dawn; the moments when everything empties, drops away, or leaves us⦠Leading to wide open new horizons, options, possibilities.
If I hadnβt believed in the alternative β in a more-rightly-aligned reality β I may never have found The Hive: I would never have found a stable alternative income, I would never have met these GLORIOUS deep connections in community off-line and on-line, and I might never have met this incredible Love Of My Life, Mr Vincent..
But I DID join up on Steemit, and then I did follow the fork immediately that it happened, and stepped into the Hive.blog: I DID take the initiative and start building the world I WANTED rather the one that was being presented to me by the system/ the evil tyrants. I dove in, participated, made efforts to support others the way that I wanted to be supported, and trusted in our collective capacity to co-create something big and very beautiful.
Hive is so important to me, because it is symbolic of something Great about our expanding conscious: as much as there is superficiality, AI-generated non-sense, and the occasion negative interaction here β there exists on the Hive.blog an extraordinary, loving, intelligent and powerfully-original expressive element of humanity. The connections I have made here, have in just a handful of cases, turned into the most profound friendships β and my profound friendships here and there have turned into active Hive members too. This is a treasure greater than the significant income that I have earned and continue to earn. In a mainstream reality, I practically no longer exist, but in the Hive world, my presence is witnessed and nourished, and my creativity is respected and encouraged.
I have a vision of worlds like these, as much as they are digital and ethereal, forming the new fabric of reality: they are harbours for Truth and genuine creativity, and they are of the few places online where we can speak freely AND positively, whilst not focussing on the darkness and the extreme controversy that are being revealed as the pillars of conventional βrealityβ.
Eventually, everyone gets bored of evil β once evil becomes visible and obvious, it loses its grip on those who thought they were doing the right thing (but who were, actually, holding up the dark side).
And once folks realise that there are real (better!!) alternatives to every choice they make in the material world; they quickly make the change. I know that folks might be reeling from what is being uncovered in the mainstream right now, but very soon weβll be cleaning out the swamps and bogs, the latrines and cesspits, and weβll be planting trees and vegetable gardens where before was undealt-with shite.
