hello friends who love herbs, today I will share a special recipe, why special? because this recipe comes from the wives and daughters of the kings of Java, such as the Sultanate of Solo and the Sultanate of Yogyakarta. yes, today I will share one of the traditional herbal recipes from my country, Indonesia. One of the traditional herbs that is always used to prevent and overcome various problems health is kencur plant /aromatic ginger(Kaempferia galanga).
In Indonesia, the parts of the kencur plant/ aromatic ginger used as herbs are the rhizome and the leaves.
In this post I will share a recipe for kencur rice for external treatment, namely as a scrub.This scrub rice kencur has several properties, namely:
1.tighten skin and brighten facial skin
2.overcoming joint pain, one of the benefits of kencur rice scrub is to warm the joints
3.control oil on the skin and face
4.prevent premature aging
5.treat acne and other skin disorders
This scrub is usually used among the princesses of the palace to treat their skin, so that the princesses of the palace have healthy, smooth and fragrant skin. This scrub can be used three times a week, used before bathing, after using the rice kencur scrub, the benefits are immediately felt in the body. the body feels light and fresh, rice kencur scrub can also overcome colds.
The ingredients used to make kencur rice scrub are:
25 grams kencur (Kaempferia galanga)
150 mL water
50 grams rice (choose white rice without bleach)
Preparation
put the rice into a bowl then add water, let the rice soak in water for up to 12 hours.
The purpose of soaking rice in water is so that the rice is easy to grind. After 12 hours, the rice that we soak in the water looks more brittle and there is foam in the soaking water. Rice with less good quality will usually float.
I soaked it for 12 hours because I smoothed it using a blender, if we grind it with traditional tools such as a stone mill or mortar and pestle, we can soak the rice even longer, for example we soak it for 24 hours.
After we get the rice that has been soaked for 12 hours, next time I start making kencur rice scrub.the steps are :
first step: strain the rice that has been soaked for 12 hours, discard the rice soaked water,put the rice in the blender.
second step: peel the kencur skin, then wash it clean.
the third step: put the washed kencur into a blender filled with rice.
fourth step: add a little water into the blender, to make it easier to smooth the rice and kencur,then blender until the rice and kencur become smooth and perfectly mixed.
this is the kencur rice scrub that has been mashed.
If you have ever made a rice scrub, you still remember how fragrant this scrub is.
how to use rice kencur scrub: just apply it all over the body while rubbing it into the skin so that dirt / dirt on the skin disappears. for the face area, we can directly use this rice kencur scrub while rubbing it gently, then leave it for 15 to 30 minutes so that the scrub is absorbed into the skin.then rinse the body and face using water, you will immediately feel the benefits in the body.
if you want to use this concoction as a mask, you must store it in the refrigerator before use to give a fresh effect on the face, use it as a mask for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water, you can immediately feel the fresh effect on your face.
