Today I drove to the city. To the suburban part of Pula, the nearest city to the small seaside town where I live. I brought my car to the place where the cars get professionally cleaned. An old-fashioned car wash. The only one that still working in the city as far as I know. The others I see around are all automated.
Here you can see the car being washed. While that work was going on ...
... I took a walk around the neighborhood. Besides a bit of the suburban scenery, you can also see three groups of people in this shot. The workers on the rooftop. The passer-byes down in the street. And more or less in between them, on the billboard, three girls in the pizzeria. All that content may pass unnoticed if you don't enlarge the image by clicking on it. In the following photograph ...
... I zoomed in on the work in progress up there on the rooftop.
I followed the action for a couple of minutes, and then ...
... I zoomed in on another building. This modern church was finished in 2005. It's massive, the architecture looks heavy and far from being elegant, and the concrete blocks are kinda ugly. This piece of architecture definitively isn't beautiful or interesting, but through time, it somehow managed to become iconic for that neiberhood. I don't know, my feelings are mixed here. I kinda like its unique unattractiveness.
On my way back to the car wash, while passing by a green wall made of some coniferous plant with a pleasant cypress-like aroma ...
... I noticed a little bottle stuck among the twigs. Judging by its type and size, I'll say that it contained some type of strong liquor. The evergreen wall by the side of the road looks like it was made for holding the bottles. I mean, the plant holds them perfectly with its twigs and foliage.
The car wash is surrounded by a cafe café and some garages. I mean, they are all part of the same big house and its yard. In this shot, you can see the door of one of those garages and a bunch of other houses in that neiberhood.
This is my car again.
AND THAT'S IT. THE CAR WASH MAN WAS FAST AND FURIOUS. I MEAN, EFFICIENT. THE WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY, SO I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO TAKE MORE THAN TEN PHOTOGRAPHS. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THOSE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.
