Another gray and gloomy day this Thursday; it almost feels depressing, especially if you spend a lot of time indoors. It hasn't rained since last night, and hopefully, it won't rain for at least a couple of days... Hopefully.
This type of weather is hard to endure without engaging in physical activity, and today I took a break from going to the gym. Luckily, a friend of mine had some mowing to do at his vacation house near town and invited me to join.
Mowing isn't exactly my thing, but I did take the opportunity to wash my car. I've already shared a short #thread about it here. I'm not usually a fan of do-it-yourself tasks because I tend to be a bit clumsy when it comes to fixing things, but I think I've discovered my hidden talent...
It turns out I'm quite good at washing cars... Who would have thought?
Usually, I'm in and out of commercial car washers in less than 15 minutes, but today, I poured my passion and dedication into giving my car a thorough cleaning.
My "poor old lady" is about 19 years old, but still drivable. It has a few rust spots here and there, and the paint's varnish isn't in the best condition (someone applied a bad polish to it), but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a good wash.
With no one rushing me, I took the time to clean almost every inch of it in detail. This is where I discovered my newfound passion. I don't want to wash cars as a job...
But I would certainly love to have my own small detailing shop. If I manage to accumulate enough funds after the next peak of the bull market, I'll pursue this dream. I can't explain why, but I feel drawn to it.
Detailing is like a spiritual practice the way I see it, and believe me I have my fair share of spiritual practice for this life time...
While I thoroughly enjoy writing blog posts and engaging in content creation, I also find great joy in performing such meticulous work. Of course, before starting a business, I'll have to refine my skills by working on more cars.
Finding the right location for such a facility is another challenge I'll have to tackle. Anyway, I decided to edit the photographs I took during the job in monochrome because I find them cooler than the standard versions.
So, what do you say? Would you trust me to clean your car?
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
