This is another entry submitted for the daily #monomad challenge. This time I decided to include some mushroom images altered with a black and white filter.
This one is the lion shield, or in mycology it has the scientific name Pluteus leoninus. This was captured in early August 2022 in a local forest during the rainy season. The mushroom was found just growing solitary without anything else. "Can I accompany you even for a moment?" I whispered.
There are also other mushrooms that also grow solitary: the bristly tropical cup or in mycology it has the scientific name Cookeina tricholoma.
There are many hairs on the fruit body, and this is a unique feature of the fungus, but you don't have to worry if you touch the hairs because they are not toxic like hairy caterpillars.
