Today I’d like to share a series of street shots from my first visit to Istanbul.
It was May 2024. I spent only three days in the city, but they left a lasting impression. From morning until late evening, I wandered with my camera over my shoulder — mostly without a plan, guided by intuition, and at one point even got lost. You could even say… on purpose. The city drew me in not with grand hilltop panoramas or architectural variety, but with small details: the squeal of tram rails against the backdrop of minarets, a seagull perched on a rooftop far from the sea, a cat settled comfortably on a windowsill, watching it all unfold. That’s Istanbul unplugged: raw, unposed, and utterly alive.
Of course, those three days flew by like three minutes — I only managed to explore two neighborhoods. But even that was enough to know one thing for sure: I’ll definitely be back.
Thank you for stopping by!
