Tell me beauty is stuck without telling me
It's been long time since inspiration based on the mundane of life hasn't strike me. This post is mainly aimed at the women's side of Hive, although I would be very interested to hear what the men have to say about it - do not hesitate!
Do any of you also feel that beauty is somehow stuck?
Not in the way that happens when your heel unintentionally gets caught in a crack in the sidewalk and you have to jerk your foot like a crazy horse to free it so you can keep walking gracefully down the street, but rather as if it were stuckātrapped, packed, unable to be consumed until the lid is opened.
I do.
Recently, I shamelessly eavesdropped on a conversation between two twenty-year-old girls, women or I am not even sure how shall I address them, and the topic was vitamins, how many and often are they consuming it.
You would say nothing so important that my ears would be interested in, but the sentence "I take a total of 12 pills before I go to sleep"
Wait, what?
In my head, I counted all those pills and tablets, imagined myself swallowing them disgustingly, chanting that a bunch of those elixirs would make me beautiful when I stood in front of my bathroom cabinet the next morning.
Oh young lady, in my twenties all I was caring about was good hydrated skin, about collagen and other emulsions my body will take care, it's still productive, actually it's the most productive in those ages, I really had no time to wrap my mind about expensive bottles.
Nowadays, expensive bottles and high price tags under products became a measurement for beauty.
Basically you can not be pretty until you open the magic bottle, sad, but that how it sounds in my head. Instagram also contributed to all of this, the amount of beauty tips that can be found there would satisfy ten generations to come, regardless of all that, new content is published every day and just imagine, THIS PRODUCT WILL MAKE YOU BE EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL TO YOUR PARTNER, to attract sighs wherever you step, and the world will bow down to you.
Yeah sister right, they barely make a difference between shampoo and hair conditioner (no pun intended).
All of this has nothing to do with hygiene or fact that each of us should take care of health and appearance.
It is useless to discuss the extent to which consumerism influenced all of this, but did beauty get stuck in some minimalist, expensive-looking package, in the logo of a world-famous cosmetics brand?
How many products do you actually need to do a decent make up?
Base for this, fixative for that, eye shadows, lipsticks, brushes, blushes, powders - stone, liquid, eyebrow pencil, under the eyebrows, for pupils, eyelashes.
What the hell!
Got dizzy here....but list goes way longer then this one.
I will not leave out the latest trend of lip balm intervention that makes your lips perfect, nor micro blade eyebrows, after which your skin peels like a snake when it changes, and for God's sake, neither silk eyelashes, which often act like those little brooms you use to quickly clean your desk.
Before I grabbed the camera, it took me two hours to experience an inspiring revelation while constantly staring at the black lacquered stiletto on the table, my humble make up kit, waiting for the answer to the question to appear in the visual.
Did I answer it right, not sure, but this is how it looks to me when I say BEAUTY IS STUCK.
, this is my entry for the #monomad challenge, thank you all for your time and interest in what I do.
