My entry for the #monomad Challenge.
A few years ago the Auckland council began redeveloping a part of the city waterfront that had been neglected for decades.The plan was to restore seven great silos formerly used for storing cement into people friendly spaces.Around them would be built a public space for a giant playground,concerts, open air movies,exhibitions and food trucks.

Apartments have also been built and now the area is a dynamic central city suburb-a successful city planning exercise.The area is named Silo Park as the Silos dominate it.
I had to use wide angle in these images as the silos are too high to capture otherwise-well over 50 Metres.
There is even a mini golf course thru some of the Silos!
As you can see these Silos make a great environment to shoot in monochrome-the solid cement and great scale of the silos really stands out.Textures,tones and lighting are dramatic and the height is imposing as you stand at the bottom and look up.
