This is my entry for #monomad challenge by
Hello to all and Happy Easter!
Today I will publish three images taken on april 2001, during a wonderful ski mountaineering tour on Dome de Tzan (3351 m.), in Valpelline (Aosta valley, Italy).
Weather was foggy.
Here my friend alpine guide skied the snowy slope:
Skiing on fresh snow is not a sport. It is like to paint, drawing a trace under you, and it is like a music: you must follow and feel the right time inside you to bend without losing the balance.
When you scan a black and white film, you can have some scratches on it. This scratches don't appear on print, but they can appear during scan. I have left them on file, giving also some contrast, and I like the atmosphere of dreaming and other reality this pic suggests to me, a vision about wilderness of high mountain. Photography is not an exact mirror of reality, but it should go beyond the reality, it should give a feeling, like a painting.
Pictures taken on Ilford HP5 film with Yashica FX-3.
