Hello everyone! This is my entry for the #monomad challenge! Today I'm bringing you along with me to walk through the memories of what was my first solo trip, and so, even if it's a trip from a few years ago, I'll add a new destination to my Pinmapple map :D.

In 2018, I managed to gather the courage to embark on an adventure that would change my life: traveling alone.

The destination was New York, and today I enjoy remembering it and strolling there again when I see the photos.

High Line Park

That imposing city has a reputation for being full of tall buildings, businesses and traffic congestion, and although that is true to a large extent, there is something that few people highlight, and that is the amount of green spaces that the city offers, of which Central Park stands out remarkably.

Today I decided to turn to black and white photos of another park, the High Line Park, It is a linear park that was the result of urban recovery of an abandoned area, or rather an abandoned railroad.

Hola a todos! Esta es mi entrada para el desafío #monomad! Hoy los traeré conmigo a pasear por los recuerdos del que fue mi primer viaje sola, y así, aunque se trate de un viaje de hace unos años, sumaré un nuevo destino a mi mapa de Pinmapple :D.

En el año 2018, logré juntar el coraje necesario para embarcarme en una aventura que me cambiaría la vida: viajar sola.

El destino fue Nueva York, y hoy disfruto recordarlo y pasear nuevamente por allí cuando veo las fotos.

High Line Park

Aquella ciudad imponente, tiene fama de estar repleta de altos edificios, negocios y congestión vehicular, y aunque en gran medida eso es cierto, hay algo que pocas personas resaltan, y es la cantidad de espacios verdes que ofrece la ciudad, de los cuales el Central Park se destaca notablemente.

Hoy decidí pasar a blanco y negro fotos de otro parque, el High Line Park, Se trata de un parque lineal que fue resultado de la recuperación urbana de un área abandonada, o mejor dicho de una vía férrea abandonada.

This linear park offers a beautiful walkway that is used by a large number of people and provides access from different streets. That is, you can decide to walk along the High Line at different points, look for the stairs and take a walk there.

It is a park not only linear but also in height, so the views of New York City, precisely Manhattan from there, are very beautiful.

The urban landscape, with the skyscrapers and wide streets of American design are evident from this perspective.

Este parque lineal ofrece una hermosa pasarela por la que circula una gran cantidad de personas y que brinda acceso desde diferentes calles. Es decir, que puedes decidir recorrer el High Line en diversos puntos, buscar la escalera y dar un paseo por allí.

Se trata de un parque no solo lineal sino también en altura, por lo que las vistas hacia la ciudad de Nueva York, precisamente Manhattan desde allí, son muy bellas.

El paisaje urbano, con los rascacielos y las calles amplias del diseño estadounidense quedan en evidencia desde esta perspectiva.

From this walk, you can see the Manhattan skyline and at the same time you can contemplate the art that colors this park, as there are sculptures as you walk along the High Line, as well as in the buildings that are in front of it.

Thus, there are murals that are perfectly observed from that height and angle, sculptures on some balconies, paintings, which are made so that visitors to the High Line can see perfectly from there.

Desde este paseo, se puede observar el plano de la ciudad de Manhattan y al mismo tiempo se puede contemplar el arte que tiñe a este parque, ya que hay esculturas a medida que uno va caminando tanto en el High Line, como en los edificios que están frente a el.

De este modo, hay murales que se observan a la perfección desde esa altura y ángulo, esculturas en algunos balcones, pinturas, que están hechas para que los visitantes del High Line puedan ver perfectamente desde allí.

This park is just over 2 km long and according to the website Introducing New York, it was completed in 2014, having opened in 2009, making it a very new construction site.

Este parque tiene una longitud de algo más de 2 km y según el sitio web Introducing New York, se terminó de construir en el año 2014, habiendo sido inaugurado en 2009, por lo que se trata de una obra muy nueva.

When I was walking through that linear park, I searched on my cell phone, on Google Maps, what else was nearby to do, and I discovered that the Chelsea Market was just a few meters away.

It was a market that I had read that if you went to New York, you had to visit it, it was one of the "must" of the trip. So I decided to take advantage of that moment to go.

Cuando estaba caminando por aquel parque lineal, busqué en mi celular, en Google Maps, qué más había cerca para hacer, y descubrí que el Chelsea Market estaba a pocos metros.

Se trataba de un mercado que había leído que si se iba a Nueva York, debía visitarse indefectiblemente, era uno de los “must” del viaje. Así que decidí aprovechar ese momento para ir.

It is a market where they sell different types of food, and also responds to an urban recovery.

The style is old-fashioned, as if it were an old factory, and that's what it really was!

In the next photo, on the far left, you can see a sign that says "Oreo Sandwich", because this is where the famous Oreo cookies were invented! That's what I found out later, and I started looking in the photos for that sign that I had been told was there and voila! I found it, only that when I took the picture, I didn't know it.

Se trata de un mercado en donde venden diferentes tipos de comida, y también responde a una recuperación urbana.

El estilo es anticuado, como si se tratara de una vieja fábrica, y es que en verdad eso era!

En la siguiente foto, en la extrema izquierda, se puede ver un cartel que dice “Oreo Sándwich”, pues porque aquí se inventaron las famosas galletas Oreo! De eso me enteré después, y me puse a buscar en las fotos ese cartel que me habían comentado que estaba y voilà! Lo encontré, solo que cuando tomé la foto, yo no lo sabía.
