It reminds me of times long gone when I used to shoot only in black and white. Not because I wanted special aesthetic effects, just because I couldn't do otherwise. I didn't have the equipment and knowledge. Although I was often satisfied with my photographs, the color remained a great unfulfilled desire.
Now color is all over the road if I do say so myself. The mobile phone offers everyone an unlimited number of color photos.
Always, too much is no good. Black and white appear more and more often in photography now. In fact, in the vast majority of cases, it is actually a conversion, a transformation of color photos into black and white photos.
Black and white photography always looks more professional, even taken by amateurs like me. That's why I thought of converting a few photos of my granddaughter Ilinca, into what could be called romantic poses. Any photo can be converted to black and white but not all of them get that extra and that special image and I think that the selection of photos to be converted is very important.
I went for a walk in the park with my son and his little girl, Ilinca. Ilinca is less than two years old and is attracted to the clothing accessories worn by adults, especially hats and sunglasses.
This time the "victim" was my sun hat.
She proudly wore my hat on our walk through the park until she was tired and landed in her father's arms. She didn't give up her hat there either and I was glad to see she had good taste in choosing her own image. A romantic image given by the hat too big for her head.
Where could it be more pleasant than in daddy's arms?
Photographers say that choosing black and white photography just for the sake of art, without a good choice of subjects, makes no sense. I hope I made some small sense in my choice.
