One of our politicians did that with a whole lot of bribe cash he received, over a decade ago. Big scandal! He thought, if the money's gone, they can't prove anything! Unfortunately for him, he was caught red handed, literally, with the money in his hands, throwing it into the fire in his garden.
The guy never got any punishment, and is now again in the government...
So yeah, burning our money in the stove instead of paying taxes IS a better investment, it still gets burned, and at least YOU have some of the heat :-)
