Hello, dear Black and White community!
Returning once again to adventure, trekking, photography, and my beloved Cusco, this time I walked from the district of Yucay, covering about 4 kilometers on foot until I reached the ArÃn Waterfalls (also known as Sirena Falls), located in the town of ArÃn in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
I spent the whole day walking and taking photos along the way from Yucay, enjoying every step of the journey. But I made a mistake: I didn’t charge my camera or bring a spare battery. I was already far along the route, so there was no turning back. Luckily, I had my iPhone 12 Pro with me, and I decided to keep shooting with what I had.
Once you get to ArÃn, there’s a 40-minute uphill walk to reach the waterfall. In my case, I got lost more than once in the forest trails, so it took me over an hour to finally find it. I remember that moment being a mix of exhaustion, frustration and excitement. And when I finally found the waterfall, it was absolutely worth it.
The photos you’re about to see were taken with my phone, using Live mode converted into long exposure. It wasn’t what I had planned, but I still feel like I managed to capture something beautiful from that day.
Sometimes you don’t need the best gear to take a good photo. You just need to be there, feel it and click.
I walked, got lost, got tired and still ended the day happy. The Sacred Valley never fails.

Hola comunidad de fotógrafos en blanco y negro.
Volviendo siempre a la aventura, al trek, a la fotografÃa y a mi querido Cusco, esta vez salà caminando desde el distrito de Yucay, recorriendo unos 4 kilómetros a pie hasta llegar a las Cataratas de ArÃn (también conocidas como Cataratas de la Sirena), en el pueblo de ArÃn, en pleno Valle Sagrado.
Me pasé todo el dÃa caminando y tomando fotos desde que salà de Yucay, disfrutando cada paso del recorrido. Pero cometà un error: no cargué mi cámara ni llevé la baterÃa de repuesto. Ya estaba lejos, asà que no habÃa marcha atrás. Por suerte tenÃa mi iPhone 12 Pro a la mano, y decidà seguir tomando fotos con lo que tenÃa.
Cuando llegas al pueblo de ArÃn, tienes que subir caminando unos 40 minutos cuesta arriba para alcanzar la catarata. Aunque en mi caso, me perdà más de una vez entre las rutas del bosque, asà que me tomó más de una hora encontrarla. Recuerdo ese momento como una mezcla de cansancio, frustración y emoción. Hasta que finalmente la encontré, y valió completamente la pena.
Las fotos que verán a continuación las tomé con el celular, usando el modo Live convertido a larga exposición. No fue lo que planeé, pero igual siento que pude capturar algo bonito de ese dÃa.
A veces no necesitas el mejor equipo para hacer una buena foto. Solo necesitas estar ahÃ, sentirlo y hacer clic.
Caminé, me perdÃ, me cansé y aún asà terminé feliz. El Valle Sagrado nunca falla.
