Spiky
For a while I'm thinking of starting again with the conceptual photography & to shoot textures of surfaces & objects which might look pretty freaky & strange & make the viewers ask themselves: "What is that?" The goal of this kind of approach & these kind of motives is to attract the viewers & keep them focused on the shot with a question I already mentioned. The other goal of these kind of shots is to make the viewers wish to have them on the walls of their living or working spaces or as a digital decoration on phones or computers or tablets, anywhere where this kind of art can fit. Here I experimented with the direction orientation of the spikes.
1st shot I chose to be the usual horizontal
This macro lens makes excellent results. The spikes had some dots on different depth which made them blurry & an additional decorative details of the whole picture. The combination of shadows & highlight creates ever interesting dynamics. In addition, the ends of the spikes are darker then the lower dirty whitish parts which increases the contrast.
After the usual horizontal orientation & went for another standard vertical
The edges of all the photos are blurred & darkened & the middles are popping up clearly but also the middles have their own blurry too! The blurred edges have again some nice combination between darkened & highlighted curves which are more intensifying the dynamics.
For the end I experimented the diagonal orientation of the spikes which for me looks the most interesting
What do you think is this object? What does it associate in your mind? Try to guess & write it down in the comments, please...
This is my entry to #monomad challenge. Thanks

The upper shots I made with Nikon Z6 & Sigma 105 mm DG Macro HSM. For the self-portrait below I used the older Nikon D800 & Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70 mm lens.
