It's time once again time for that most contrived of holidays, the yearly Singles Awareness Day otherwise known as Valentine's Day. I can just picture a bunch of businessmen sitting around, smoking cigars and scratching their heads, trying to come up with something to drum up business during the post-holidays slump.
I could just be cynical but even as a kid it seemed like it was meant to equate spending money with love. Maybe it's just the overabundance of jewelry store ads that gives that impression but I'm still suspicious. Now that I've got the obligatory rant out of the way, I want to talk about the actual topic of this post, the lovely and wonderful human being that is the subject of these photos.
I'm spending this Feb 14th with my pandemic partner, and while they're distracted with more noble pursuits I'm editing photos they didn't know I had :) They're a badass photographer too but I've yet to explain hive well enough to get them to join ( I think you know them from a different platform).
Quite a few of my photos I've posted on here have come from our photo adventures together. While I was running around taking photos of the protests last year they'd swapped their camera gear for medic kit and were providing medical support to the protesters and community. I can't think of anyone I'd rather get tear gassed, spotlighted, and surrounded by police with.
We've got snow and ice coming in a few hours so we may get to spend more than just today together, which should be magical (and by magical I mean there will be lots of playing Magic involved). That's enough out of me, y'all be good or be good at it!
