Can we go back to talking about nuclear war and weapons of mass destruction? All this covid talk is starting to get a bit stale, it's not like anyone is paying attention anymore anyways. Who wants to think about dying gasping for breath with a tube shoved down your throat when you could be thinking about being instantaneously vaporized in a nuclear holocaust?
It's not like the Cold War actually ended, it's just been on intermission for a decade or two. Guess they had to take the political window dressing down before Act II. Did you know that the US still has 405 ICBMs sitting in silos, ready to go? Atomic fire, thirty minutes away from anywhere!
What's not to love about a Mexican standoff with weapons of mass destruction? Surely the government is as prepared for that as it was a pandemic...
China's menacing Taiwan, Russia's menacing Ukraine, the US and western Europe making tepid threats of 'consequences'. Is it two minutes to midnight yet?
Judging by the past couple years, mutually assured destruction isn't restricted to the use of nuclear weapons anymore.
We may all be required to have the fear now but at least we have some variety to choose from. What's your favorite flavor? Nuclear war, terrorists, pandemics, climate change, there's something for every taste!
No matter which you choose, it's gonna end badly, right? So why worry about it?
