Mugee Uteuen is a daily local term in the province of Aceh, Indonesia for those itinerant fish and vegetable traders who sell their wares from village to village. Usually, Mugee Uteuen hangs out every morning in the city market center to shop for goods (fish, vegetables and cooking spices) which will later be sold in villages outside the city.
The people here are greatly helped by the mobility of Mugee Uteuen who come to the villages every day to bring their daily shopping needs. At least those who are far from the city center don't need to travel to the city to shop. The mothers just have to wait for Mugee Uteuen to arrive in their yard and just choose a variety of fish and vegetables brought by Mugee Uteuen.
To make mobilization easier, Mugee Uteuen often travel by motorbike, their various wares are usually filled in containers made of woven rattan. Not a few also use motorized rickshaws to make it easier to transport more merchandise that can be mobilized to the villages.
This morning I was at one of the Mugee Uteuen bases in the city center, every day they have to race against time to prepare the merchandise they will bring. Below are a number of photos that I captured using my cellphone. And make it an entry for the Monomad Challenge this time.
In this Monomad Challenge contest, I want to invite my friends to see some of Black and White photos caught by my phone camera; Activities at Mugee Uteuen Station. Enjoy the pictures 😉
