Hello Hiver's and Black and White Community!
Hope everyone is doing well. Today I am sharing something close to my heart a simple afternoon spent with my two nephews at the Folk Arts Center in Malaybalay, Bukidnon. No fancy setup, no planned shoot. Just me, the boys, their battery operated ride on jeep, and a remote control in my hand. I let them take the wheel while I controlled things from the side though they had no idea. They thought they were fully in charge and honestly that made it even better to watch. I chose black and white for these shots because I wanted the photos to feel the way the moment felt. Quiet, real, and worth remembering. No distractions just two kids enjoying a free afternoon the way kids should.
He grabbed that wheel like he knew exactly where he was going. No map, no directions — just a boy, a jeep, and wide open road. Watched him drive off and thought, this is what freedom looks like at his age. Small hands, big confidence.
Then his brother showed up and suddenly there were two captains on one ship. One drives, one holds on from the back — and somehow it works perfectly. You can hear the laughing even in a silent photo. These two together is always a good time.
Meanwhile I am standing on the side holding the remote control trying to look calm like I am not the one actually driving. The boys think they are in charge. I let them think that. Some days the best thing you can do is just stand back, watch them play, and take it all in. Afternoons like this don't come back but pictures do.
I hope these pictures bring a smile to your face the same way that day brought one to mine. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to look. All picture are taken by me
