Hey dear Community, I hope you are well and you had a nice day with positive experiences! To become part of the new round of the #monomad challenge, I have taken some black and white pictures of an interesting mineral which I would like to present.
Pyrite can be seen here, which has a typical golden to yellow color as well as a shiny appearance. The name is derived from the ancient Greek word pyr which means fire and this name is associated with the characteristic that if you rub two pyrites together, a slight spark can arise. In the past, it was already used by ancient cultures to ignite fire and is mythologically anchored with this ability.
Pyrite can actually be found pretty much everywhere in the world and from an industrial point of view, pyrite can also be very interesting for the extraction of iron and sulfur, which is why it is mined extensively in some areas. This mineral is also often used for the production of jewellery, but it is not too popular, as it can lose its appearance due to body temperature.
An interesting characteristic of pyrite is that it can have a positive effect on the mind and can help, among other things, to solve blockages. It can also help to improve mood and it can have a positive effect on depression, as it radiates a strong positive energy. It can also have a great effect on the organs and I have read that it can even be used against lung diseases. As always, it is important to mention that no matter what disease you should ask your doctor for the correct use!
Now I would like to add something about the spirituality and symbolism of pyrite. It can have a effect on the solar plexus chakra and help to open it and is a great companion for meditation exercises. From a symbolic point of view, pyrite is a sign of protection and energy, and this mineral is also often used as a lucky charm.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my entry! I used my camera Sony Alpha 6000 and Sony SEL-55210 Telephoto Zoom Lens (55-210mm) to take these pictures.
