Esta serie fotográfica, capturada en el majestuoso paisaje de Las Cárcavas de Quíbor, Venezuela, es más que una muestra de moda; es un diálogo íntimo entre la fragilidad humana y la inmensidad del desierto. El modelo, vestido con una sastrería fluida y deconstruida que evoca una elegancia nómada, interactúa con un elemento de disrupción: un espejo.
This photo series, shot against the majestic backdrop of Las Cárcavas de Quíbor in Venezuela, is more than just a fashion shoot; it is an intimate dialogue between human fragility and the vastness of the desert. The model, dressed in fluid, deconstructed tailoring that evokes a nomadic elegance, interacts with an element of disruption: a mirror.
Bajo una estética cinematográfica en blanco y negro, que exalta la textura rugosa de la tierra y el contraste de la piel con la tela, el espejo se convierte en el verdadero protagonista. Al estar en blanco o "borrado" deliberadamente, se transforma en un lienzo conceptual que refleja la ausencia. No vemos el paisaje; vemos una invitación a la introspección. El vacío en el espejo cuestiona si somos parte del entorno o si somos meros observadores externos de una realidad preexistente.
Through a black-and-white cinematic aesthetic that highlights the earth’s rough texture and the contrast between skin and fabric, the mirror becomes the true protagonist. By being left blank or deliberately “erased,” it transforms into a conceptual canvas that reflects absence. We do not see the landscape; we see an invitation to introspection. The emptiness in the mirror raises the question of whether we are part of the environment or merely external observers of a preexisting reality.
Esta propuesta surge de llevar la moda a la unificacion del arte en espacios naturales, y crear un impacto en la composicion fotografica en series editoriales para incentivar a otros creadores artisitico que podemos hacer increibles sesiones de fotos en espacios como estos.
This project stems from the idea of blending fashion with art in natural settings, and creating a visual impact through photographic composition in editorial series to inspire other artists to create incredible photo shoots in spaces like these.
La experiencia fue Viajar a Quíbor a las 11:00 a.m. para estar en la hora perfecta planificada, conocida como la hora dorada, y asi capturar la luz suave antes de que el sol de Lara se ocultara. El desafío técnico fue manejar los reflejos reales del espejo en el desierto para mantener el concepto editorial de 'ausencia' que queríamos proyectar.
The experience involved traveling to Quíbor at 11:00 a.m. to arrive at the perfect planned time, known as the golden hour, and thus capture the soft light before the Lara sun set. The technical challenge was managing the actual reflections from the mirror in the desert to maintain the editorial concept of “absence” that we wanted to convey.
