I think I did a similar post with a different plant a while ago. The stages of it from a bud to seed. And as I was editing those shots one by one I realized I have what I need here. The buds, the flowers and what is left after the petals are gone (plus a little bonus).
They were all shot at my mums garden one spring. I didn't have to wait long to catch all the staged as they grow fast, bloom short and just keep the green leaves until summer. Then they just dry up and go dormant until next spring.
Those are Anemones by the way. They resemble the ones that grow in parks and woods, but are slightly bigger.
Here is the bonus :)
While they bloom they become hunting grounds for the little crab spiders. Great camouflage I must say!
And when they all have opened, bees and spiders are well feed, they start to fade away.
Trying to stand tall with whatever is left...
...and then they are gone.
Turning their baldy little heads towards the sun.
