Photographing Lara and David was one of those special experiences I’d been looking forward to for a while. Not just because they were such a warm, kind couple, but because of the space they chose for their shoot: an old library with brick walls and soft, muted light.
From our very first conversation, they told me how much they loved classic settings. They weren’t looking for trendy or flashy. They wanted their photos to feel real something that could truly reflect who they are, not just what they were wearing.
When we arrived at the location, it felt like we’d stepped into a story. Tall bookshelves, exposed brick walls, concrete ceilings with dim lighting, vintage leather chairs, even guitars hanging on the wall it all gave off a quiet, timeless vibe. The kind of place where people don’t just read books, they fall in love.
Lara wore a long white dress with this graceful ease. She didn’t pose too much or seem stressed. She was just herself, exactly how she should be. As she walked between the shelves, her dress brushed the floor softly, adding a calm, dreamy touch to each frame.
David knew how to be present without needing to do much. In some shots, he just placed his hand gently on Lara’s shoulder and that simple gesture said everything. You could feel the comfort and love without a single word.
We also shot a few scenes in a more lounge-like, classic room. Guitars hanging behind them, vintage rugs on the floor, warm natural light falling gently across Lara’s face it all came together to make the photos feel even more intimate and alive.
All of the images were captured in black and white. Not because color was missing, but because I felt like it wasn’t needed. In this space, texture and light did the storytelling. And honestly, it worked. There’s a timeless feel in these frames like they could’ve been taken fifty years ago or yesterday.
As always, I’ve only shared a few selected shots for now. There’s still so much more to come.
And as a female photographer, capturing a couple’s wedding day is something I hold close to my heart. The chance to preserve moments that will never repeat that’s exactly what keeps me in love with this work.
