Continuing my black and white series, "monomaniac" I'm pleased to say that I have found the Black and White Community on Hive very supportive of my stuff and this is another post where I use the "monomad" tag.
I started writing this post intending to post monochrome landscape shots; looking around my hard drives I found a few of my lightpainting shots where the colour balance hadn't quite worked for me and applied a black and white conversion. This is a sample selection where I turned down the sliders:
This is the wearing a gas mask and waving a toy light sabre around in the dark:
This shot creeped me out a little when I converted it to mono and maybe looks more sinister than the original colour version:
This is something unusual for me and lightpainters would probably frown at me for posting monochrome lightpaintings! This is a firework spin on a footbridge and I hated the colour balance where the foreground had a wierd green tint and looked somewhat "sickly" with the orange flames. So here it is in monochrome and I don't mind!
All of the above shots were created in one photographic exposure and converted to mono in Photoshop. The lightpainting "gods" will probably smite me down and I'll spend an eternity in hell, whatever that means!!
About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
