The small world of macro with close-up lens. Here's a few plant species that commonly found around us and I never paid attention to it before. Getting a decent photo of a macro really need a lot of practices and skills with the right equipment. I have a plan for the future of documenting a video footage of this small organism of macro world for my own personal projects. Getting into that setup will still require me some time to get used to with a proper equipment preparation. However, this does not mean I cannot start with photography first. This are a few test shoot I've taken a few days ago in the late afternoon. These days, in the late afternoon is always raining here and I'm not getting the proper lights exposure for this kind of shoot even though it's in the open space.
Accessing the knowledge of identifying this plant nowadays has become really easy with the existence of Internet and technology. Most of phone camera now have that ability to identify anything as long as we are connected to the internet and with this i'll try to identify the name of this plant that I've taken.
Commonly known as dandelions. The scientific name is Taraxacum according to the google search, a large genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.
I'm not really sure if this is the correct identification of this plant. If i'm not mistaken, this is the flower bud of Melothria Pendula, a plant that belongs to the same family of plants with cucumbers, watermelons and pumpkins, its fruits resemble more berries.
This is the fruit of the Melothria Pendula, I'm not sure what is the commonly known name for this plant but it did resemble a bit like a cucumber but the size is a lot smaller.
This is Kyllinga brevifolia, a species of sedge known by several common names, including shortleaf spikesedge, green kyllinga, perennial greenhead sedge, and kyllinga weed.
This is the meadow foxtail or the field meadow foxtail, a perennial grass belonging to the grass family. Scientific name is Alopecurus pratensis.
Not all of the photo I managed to identify. It's quite hard when there's a several lookalike plants that have a different names and I might as well get it wrong all the time. It's quite fun actually searching for the plants names and sometimes getting to know the usage. All of this plant is actually just around outside of my house and some of it I didn't realize that it have a fruits that can be eaten. I never really pay attention to my surrounding until this moment when I make an effort to get to know this plant that makes me think that there's really a big world around me in a smaller scale. My next plan would be to document this later in the form of video.
