It's been raining back again in the late afternoon for a few days already. So much unpredictability of the weather where last week it's been hot and dry for 5 days straight and here I thought it will continue the hot streak to this week. I've been planning to have an outdoor activity with my nephew and niece since my brother from Kuching is at home for a week. Thank God that the rain stop for a bit yesterday for us to at least have a walk around the Perdana Park located in Tanjung Aru. So, I take this opportunity to bring my camera with my newly purchase black pro mist filter and take a few photo to see how it looks.
Perdana Park is a public recreation park that have a jogging track, a children playground, a restaurant and also the main attraction of this place is the colourful display of water fountain that plays according to the music. This place has been a bit run down since it was close for almost 2 years because of the pandemic. The playground has been closed due to the bad condition and not well maintain. It's too bad that it was closed as I would really like for the kids to play around there and take a few photo of them.
In the end, we decided to play the water bubbles which we rent the equipment for RM10, around 2USD for two sets. At least the kids are having fun with this and I managed to get a few photo of them in action. Sometimes, looking at kids having that fascination and awe to see the world is really refreshing to this very saturated mind of mine.
It started to rain again when the water fountain display started around 7.00pm. We cannot get close as we didn't bring an umbrella and we just watch it from the shop while eating ice cream. Even the sound system has not been well maintain as it didn't sound very loud compare to the last time I came which is quite a long time I think before the pandemic. I just hoped that this place will soon be maintain and repaired back to their original condition as there will be more people to visit this place soon since the transition of pandemic to endemic. Here's a single shot of the water fountain display that I took.
From this outing and my test shoot using this filter, I kinda like the outcome of the photo. I pair it with in camera settings for Evpro+ Day recipe that I get from watching Veres Deni Alex Channel on youtube. If you're interested to watch and trying out his camera recipe of film emulation for sony camera, you can watch it here in his youtube channel.
This filter soften the photo looks with a dreamy like effects. The filter that I purchase has the 1/8 strength of bloom effects which to is just nice for my preference. It also lowering the contrast and sharpness of the photo to emulate the film look. When I see the raw photo, I like it as it is without tweaking too much on the colour. I only change a bit of the exposure and that's it. Overall, I might used this filter for doing street photo later on and maybe purchase another with 72mm filter size for my zoom lens. Another posting later for the future.
Until next post and thank you for visiting my blog. Have a great day everyone.
