There are mountain trails, and I am alone, with myself. I'm wandering in the forests of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, where winter has arrived. Snow has already fallen on the higher peaks; birds and trees are swaying together, and I'm laughing at their joyful dance.
A shepherd's dog is lying in the bright sun. I stop for a while and enjoy its presence, exchanging a few words that the dog certainly didn't understand, and perhaps neither did I. The tall mountain, Mount Patalsu Peak, is covered in snow, only partially visible because of its height of 4250 meters.
There's a snowline in some places, and pure white snow in others; the view is perfect for this black and white landscape. In front of the mountain is another peak, 5980 meters high. I walk carefully to avoid slipping on the ice and enter the forest.
Streams are flowing through the forest, where I try taking long-exposure photos with my phone. The results are good, and I enjoy the process. Looking up, I see the blue sky behind the trees, now appearing white. The birds flying overhead don't show up in the photos, but they don't escape my gaze.
This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
