In Havana, people without steady jobs who sell things on the streets are a common sight. They have always existed in Cuba, although for many years they had to sell in the shadows. Today, they are a natural part of the landscape here in the capital. Retirees without family or outside help are part of the view.
Something I see all the time on the streets are vendors or points of sale throughout every city, street markets.
It is now a way of working for many people and provides greater access to essential items that are not easily found in stores. Street vendors were perhaps the first merchants in the world.
According to history, livestock was the first thing considered valuable to humans among the tribes that were forming the first civilizations among the human race.
