This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
Title: Our Homestead Herd
Greetings fellow hivers and photographers. This is my very first post in this community. I'm a city boy who moved to the province and fell in love with the beauty and serenity that nature brought me.
As soon as I started living in the province, I knew I wanted to have a farm and some farm animals.
So here they are, these are our goats feeding on freshly harvested shrubs. I love that they graze and feed on their own. You just have to provide them with a large pasture abundant with grass and shrubs.
This is their barn. They rest, drink, and lick on their hanging mineral block here.
Here they are waiting for me to give them some fresh greens. They live together with our ducks and turkeys.
Here comes our ducks. Their ducklings are very cute and cuddly.
I love that they're very resilient against harsh weather conditions. They would even swim in mud puddles during a rain.
Lo and behold to our turkeys. Big,strong, and intelligent, that's what they are. They live and feed as a pack.
They breed and multiply faster than chickens. And they grow and reach full maturity in 10-12 months.
Last but not least are our pigs. They're like puppy cute when they were still piglets. They're still cute though, only so big and strong, they can push you over if you're not careful. And yes, they will eat almost anything. They consume the most amount of feeds here on our farm though, but they are the most profitable.
