I have shared photos of some historical buildings of Rome with a black and white filter as part of the #monomad concept in my previous post which was my first post for the challenge. Today, I will continue to reflect the historical texture of ancient Rome with this post as part of the #monomad challenge in addition to first post.
I have said that I like the mood and the simplicity of the emphasis on shapes and the play between light and shadow that are highlighted in the black and white photos. Historical textures seem to bring to mind the vitality of the past with the appropriate contrast.
Here are some photos that I have taken around Piazza Navona.
This area must be one of the most photographed spots. I don't need to go into the long story. Those who are interested can already find detailed information.
If you look at the square from above or walk along its perimeter, you can still see its oval shape. The playing arena has two parallel long sides and two shorter sides and a semicircle which forms the racecourse.
The Palace of Justice is a very stunning building from the outside, I'd like to look around from the inside but I'm not sure if you're allowed as a tourist and couldn't really imagine inside it.
The Tiber River flows through Rome and flows into the sea near Leonardo da Vinci Airport. On the way to Rome, there are many sights overlooking the river, along long walking, running and even cycling trails. There are also restaurants and fishing boats that float along the river. There are great places to take great photos of bridges, rivers and Rome.
It's interesting how the mood changes with the highlights or shadows. The historical textures revealed through layers of paint and time-worn objects impact the soul if we focus inside the images...
