With sun light in my eyes, caressing sea winds in my ears and uplifting aroma of the sea waters.
That's how I would shortly describe that amazing walk by the water at the port of Varna, Bulgaria, on the Black Sea.
Perhaps you have figured this out already, but I am a sucker for sea ports, and ocean ports, of course. I really can not tell why and I don't want to self analyze. I am just satisfied with the final result of that, let's call it, obsession.
Every ship, yacht or boat the enters my sights, is a great gift to me.
Every such scene, close or distant, is a deep pleasure for my mind.
Even those ugly cranes are painting a beautiful scene, telling the story of the thousands cargo ships who left the port.
Who could tell a story better than story-teller number forty-four? :) That same story teller had been the mooring support of so many sailing doors to our huge and impossible to explore world within a lifetime.
That thick red warning line cannot stop the dreams and the desires of the travelers. They would always take risks.
The passionate travelers will search for new angles and would climb and overcome any possible obstacles to fulfil their dreams.
Even if they have to wait for some time. As long as it is necessary, but... not too long.
All guidance is welcome! Pass by the known quickly so there is more time to explore the unknown!
Time leaves its traces. The most of the things could be repaired though.
If we just find the courage to bravely step towards that direction we've been envisioning.
And here, remnants of once glorious travelers and explorer. A humble memorial of a great deed.
The memorial plate reads:
"НА 24.04.76 Г. ОТ TOЗИ ПPИCTAH ЯХТАТА КОР КАРОЛИ С ШКИПЕР ЕДИНСТВЕН ЧЛЕН НА ЕКИПАЖА КАПИТАН ГЕОРГИ ГЕОРГИЕВ OTПЛАВА ЗA PEГATATA OCTAР'76 И ЗА ПЛABAHE OKOЛO CBETA И CE ЗABЪРНА HA 28.12.77 Г."
Here's the English translation:
"ON 24.04.76 FROM THIS WHARF THE YACHT KOR KAROLI WITH SKIPPER SOLE CREW MEMBER CAPTAIN GEORGI GEORGIEV SAILED FOR PEGATATA OSTAR'76 AND FOR SAILING AROUND THE WORLD AND RETURNED ON 28.12.77."
Wow, that's more than an year and a half lonesome sailing around the world... About fifty years ago, not having the modern technologies to navigate or connect with the rest of the world...
One brave man he was! Dreams and human spirit have no limits.
