"Photography is the art of frozen time...the ability to store emotion and feelings within a frame." - Lisa Kristine
As a photographer, I have always been fascinated by the power of capturing emotions and feelings within a single frame. Recently, I had the opportunity to work in a studio with two young men who were eager to be photographed. The session was focused on capturing their personalities and individuality in classic black and white photographs.
The first man I photographed was a true gentleman. He had an air of sophistication about him that was evident from the moment he walked into the studio. He was dressed in a suit , with a pipe in his hand. As soon as he lit it up, I knew that this would be an iconic photo.
I took four photos of him, each one capturing his essence in a different way. In the first photo, he looked straight at the camera with his pipe held elegantly between his fingers. In the second photo, he leaned back against a wall with smoke billowing out of his mouth.
The third photo was my favorite - it captured him mid-puff, with smoke coming out of his nose like a dragon. It was an unexpected moment that added character to the photograph.
The second man I photographed had a completely different energy about him. He was thin and had an edgier look than the first man. For his photoshoot, we decided to capture him turning away from the camera but looking back over his shoulder.
The final photograph I took featured both men together as friends. One sat on a chair while the other stood behind . They both looked relaxed and happy - it was clear that they were comfortable around each other.
As I edited these photographs in black and white, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this opportunity to capture these moments frozen in time forever. Each photograph told its own story - from the sophistication of the first man to the edginess of the second man.
In conclusion, photography truly is an art form that allows us to capture emotions and feelings within frames that will last forever. These photographs are not just images but memories that will be cherished for years to come by those who were captured within them or those who view them later on down the line.
