I've seen mountains many times, but this is one of the only times I've seen them up close and personal in the wintertime. The look is quite breathtaking; the lines and contours stand out that much more. Snow also has the effect of making things seem really fresh and clean, so it was quite a refreshing view of everything as seen from the townsite of Banff, Alberta, Canada. Everywhere you look you will see a mountain, and it isn't that much of a stretch to find yourself on the side of one as well as you venture around the town.
