Watching snow turn to ice makes me almost feel like I am watching magic. Somehow, the icy, smooth textures capture light in many interesting ways. Gathering some snow up and taking it inside or placing it somewhere you can photograph it while it melts is a nice, easy way to get some unique macros without having to go anywhere in the winter.
