I am not going to give a history class, but if you are into photography, you surely know about Henri Cartier-Bresson and his work, and some of his phrases like: "The difference between a good picture and a mediocre picture is a matter of millimeters, of small, small differences. But it is essential." Which brings us, as I see it, to the point where you have to take risks in composition and what you are portraying, the craziest idea can become a success, or just something else.
No voy a dar una clase de historia, pero si estas dentro de la fotografía, seguramente sabes sobre Henri Cartier-Bresson y su trabajo, y algunas de sus frases como: "La diferencia entre una buena fotografía y una fotografía mediocre es cuestión de milímetros, de pequeñas, pequeñas diferencias. Pero es esencia." Lo cual nos trae como yo lo veo, al punto en el que hay que arriesgarse en la composición y lo que estamos retratando, la idea más loca puede convertirse en un éxito, o tan solo en algo más.
While I walk around the places I like to go to take pictures, I find thousands of scenes that I could photograph without stopping, but life doesn't work like that either, you have to be patient and choose what you want, put your mind to work and think about what you want that day, in this little photo shoot, I concentrated on the little line by the side of the road, you'll see that in all the photos of today it's present, although this is my favorite image.
Mientras paseo por los lugares a los que me gusta ir a tomar fotografías, me encuentro con miles de escenas que podría fotografiar sin parar, pero la vida tampoco funciona así, hay que tener paciencia y escoger lo que queremos, poner nuestra mente a trabajar y pensar qué es lo que queremos ese día, en ésta pequeña sesión de fotos, me concentré en la pequeña línea al lado del camino, verán que en todas las fotos de hoy está presente, aunque esta es mi imagen preferida.
But let's start from the beginning, while observing the line I mention, I could realize that it served as a road for the little ants that didn't stop working, the first image didn't convince me completely, but I always say that it's good to show all the work, and that includes mistakes like this one.
Pero comencemos desde el inicio, mientras observaba la linea que menciono, pude darme cuenta de que servía como carretera para las pequeñas hormigas que no paraban de trabajar, la primer imagen no me convenció del todo, pero siempre digo que es bueno mostrar todo el trabajo, y eso incluye los errores como éste.
I was working only with the 50mm, I didn't bring more equipment because I didn't want distractions, besides I wanted to go light, the picture could have looked better if I had brought my macro extension tubes, but as this was a simple walk just to check the condition of the site to come back in a few more days, I didn't want to risk the equipment.
Me encontraba trabajando solamente con el 50mm, no llevaba más equipo porque no quería distracciones, además de que quería ir ligero, la fotografía pudo verse mejor si hubiera llevado mis tubos de extensión macro, pero como éste fue un paseo simple solo para comprobar el estado del sitio para regresar dentro de unos días más, no quise arriesgar el equipo.
Seeing that it would be difficult to get a better image, I decided to go ahead, that's when I saw the trash can, the truth is that the park is usually clean because not many people go there, besides there are trash cans everywhere, the sunlight illuminated it in a spectacular way and that's why I took the picture, not that there is anything special about the trash can, but the light was incredible.
Al ver que sería difícil conseguir una mejor imagen, decidí seguir adelante, fue cuando vi el cesto de basura, la verdad es que el parque suele estar limpio porque no va mucha gente, además de que hay cestos de basura por todos lados, la luz del sol lo iluminaba de una forma espectacular y por eso tomé la fotografía, no es que tenga algo de especial el cesto, pero la luz era increíble.
I liked this image because the path looks like the doorway to a castle, well not so much, but let's imagine that behind the trees is the castle and that's it, right?
Esta imagen me gusto porque el camino parece como si fuera la entrada a un castillo, bueno no tanto, pero imaginemos que detrás de los árboles está el castillo y ya está, verdad que sí se ve bien?
And finally, another person walking in the park, currently the park is very dry, the rainy season passed long ago, besides that the schedule in which I went the sun was strong, but it was what I wanted to check for another personal project that I have in mind, tell me which of the photos you like, or if you don't like any haha.
Y para finalizar, otra persona más caminando por el parque, actualmente el parque se encuentra muy seco, la temporada de lluvias pasó hace mucho, además que el horario en el que fui el sol estaba fuerte, pero era lo que quería comprobar para otro proyecto personal que tengo en mente, dime cual de las fotos te gusto, o si no ten gustó ninguna jaja.
