t’s happened to me many times: the morning starts off bustling on the streets, and as the day goes on, everything gradually calms down, as if the city were slowing its pace.

e ha pasado muchas veces: la mañana empieza con mucha vida en la calle y, a medida que avanza el día, todo se va calmando, como si la ciudad bajara el ritmo.

At first, that bothered me. I didn’t quite know what to do; I even ended up sitting on a sidewalk waiting for something to happen, looking for an idea that would pull me out of that moment.

Al principio eso me contrariaba. Me quedaba sin saber muy bien qué hacer, incluso llegué a sentarme en una acera esperando que algo pasara, buscando alguna idea que me sacara de ese momento.

And it was then, almost without realizing it, that I started looking at the shop windows… and found the answer. The reflections. Everything mixed together in layers. The street within the street.

Y fue ahí, casi sin darme cuenta, cuando empecé a mirar hacia los cristales de las tiendas… y encontré la respuesta. Los reflejos. Todo mezclado en capas. La calle dentro de la calle.

Suddenly, everything was moving again, but in a different way—more subtle, more interesting. And of course, I couldn’t stop taking pictures. That’s why today I wanted to share some of those images with you.

De pronto todo volvía a tener movimiento, pero de otra forma, más sutil, más interesante. Y claro, no podía dejar de fotografiarlo. Por eso hoy he querido compartirles algunas de esas imágenes.
