Hello everyone , this is my entry for #monomad challenge, I would like to take you with me at the Louvre Museum, certainly one of the most famous places in the world, hoping to give you a different perspective! Enjoy :-))

Everyone knows the impressive glass Pyramid built in the courtyard of the Louvre Museum, even if only for having seen the photos in the art books. There are many discussions on the harmony or the clash between ancient and modern style that Paris presents to us as if it were normality; we can only imagine the reaction of President Mitterrand in the 1980s when he saw the project by the Japanese architect Ieoh Ming Pei, who was entrusted with a work of revisiting the inner courtyard:
the Pyramid, built in glass and metal and surrounded by triangular flat fountains, would become the new entrance to the Museum and would have function as a skylight to illuminate the basement. Here is the so-called Carousel du Louvre, a space at the service of visitors, with reception, ticket office, information points, boutiques and dining options. Finally, we cannot fail to mention the second pyramid, mirrored and inverted inside, which ends at about one meter from the ground that is of great impact for the amazed eyes of tourists.

Tutti conoscono l'imponente Piramide di vetro costruita nel cortile del Museo del Louvre, fosse anche solo per averne visto le foto sui libri di arte. Moltissime le discussioni sull'armonia o sullo scontro tra antico e moderno che Parigi ci presenta quasi fosse la normalità; noi possiamo solo immaginare la reazione del Presidente Francois Mitterrand negli anni ’80 quando vide il progetto dell’architetto giapponese Ieoh Ming Pei, a cui fu affidato un lavoro di rivisitazione del cortile interno: la Piramide, costruita in vetro e metallo e circondata da delle fontane triangolari piatte, sarebbe diventata il nuovo ingresso al Museo e avrebbe funzionato da lucernario per illuminare il piano interrato. Qui si trova il cosi detto Carousel du Louvre, uno spazio a servizio dei visitatori, con l’accoglienza, la biglietteria, i punti di informazione, boutique e luoghi di ristoro. Infine, non si può non menzionare la seconda piramide, speculare e rovesciata, che termina a circa un metro da terra di grandissimo impatto per gli occhi stupefatti dei turisti.
