This post is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
Title: Polypore fungi
Although most people expect to see mushrooms on the ground, some species, such as the polypore fungi, can grow high up on trees, developing through the tree bark or high branches. It is typically found on older or well-pruned birch trees, although it can also occur on other deciduous trees. Although it has a similar color and pattern to tree bark, it is easy to identify since it grows as a huge bulge.
