Greetings, Hivers!
​It’s been over a decade—if I’m not mistaken—since I last dusted off my analog photography gear. It took a good friend and fellow film enthusiast to reignite my interest in this medium.
​I went back to basics using my old Nikon FM2 and a roll of Agfa APX100 that expired back in the 2000s (a beautiful film, by the way). These are the results.
​I’ll never deny that digital development is great; it allows you to shoot without limits and achieve excellent results. However, I must admit that analog photography has a special aura, something that makes you fall in love with it. I’m not sure if it’s the process itself or the fact that you think much more before pressing the shutter.
There’s also that unique thrill of pulling the film out of the developing tank and seeing that you actually captured the images.
​I shot two rolls recently. Today, I’m sharing my favorites from the first one; I’ll save the second roll for a future post. I also shot a roll of color film, but that one will take a bit longer to develop since finding a lab here in Cuba is quite a challenge.

​HacĂa más de una dĂ©cada, si no me equivoco, que no desempolvaba mis equipos de fotografĂa analĂłgica. Tuvo que aparecer un buen amigo, estudioso de los carretes, para que se volviera a despertar en mĂ el interĂ©s por este tipo de fotografĂa.
​Utilicé mi vieja Nikon FM2 y un carrete caducado de los años 2000: un Agfa APX100, que es una joya. Aquà les presento los resultados.
​Jamás negarĂ© el valor del desarrollo tecnolĂłgico; lo digital es genial, te permite disparar sin lĂmites y lograr resultados excelentes. Sin embargo, debo reconocer que la fotografĂa analĂłgica tiene un aura especial, algo que te enamora. No sĂ© si será el proceso o el hecho de que se piensa más antes de cada disparo. TambiĂ©n es emocionante sacar el carrete del tanque de revelado y comprobar que las imágenes están ahĂ.
​Disparé dos carretes. Hoy voy a compartir las fotos que más me gustaron del primero y dejaré las del segundo para un próximo post. También hice un carrete a color, pero ese tardaré más en revelarlo porque es complicado encontrar quién lo haga aquà en Cuba.
