Hello everyone , this is my entry for #monomad challenge, fairytale castle in Bavaria, Germany.

During our stay in Bavaria we went to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairytale castle par excellence, so much so that Walt Disney took Neuschwanstein as a model for the castle of his famous film "Sleeping Beauty" and for all his Disney parks around the world.
The castle is located in southern Bavaria almost on the border with Austria and dominates the villages of Füssen and Schwangau from above. To enjoy the best view of the castle you need to reach the Maria bridge, named in honor of Queen Maria, mother of Ludwig II, a bridge that will fascinate you
suspended above the Pöllat gorge.
Its creator Ludwig II, king of Bavaria from 1864 to 1886, hated politics and instead of dealing with state affairs he preferred to spend everything he had for the realization of his dreams, that is, for the construction of ever new castles.
Ludwig loved to enjoy his castles in solitude and would probably suffer a lot if he saw millions of tourists visiting them every year today !!

Durante il nostro soggiorno in Bavaria siamo andati a visitare il castello di Neuschwanstein, il castello delle favole per eccellenza, tanto che Walt Disney, prese Neuschwanstein come modello per il castello del suo celebre film "La bella addormentata nel bosco" e per tutti i suoi parchi Disney nel mondo.
Il castello è situato nel sud della Baviera quasi al confine con l'Austria e domina dall'alto i paesi di Füssen e Schwangau. Per godere la miglior vista sul castello occorre raggiungere il ponte di Maria (Marienbrücke), così chiamato in onore della regina Maria, madre di Ludwig II, un ponte che vi affascinerà
sospeso sopra la gola del Pöllat.
Il suo creatore Ludwig II, re della Baviera dal 1864 al 1886, detestava la politica e invece di occuparsi degli affari dello stato preferiva spendere tutto quello che aveva per la realizzazione dei suoi sogni, cioè per la costruzione di sempre nuovi castelli.
Ludwig amava godersi i suoi castelli in solitudine e probabilmente soffrirebbe parecchio se vedesse oggi milioni di turisti che li visitano ogni anno!!
