Hail to the Hive!
We are back in familiar territory. Back at the boatyard where we had badger the Narrowboats new engine installed. We like it here and the people that live and work here. It's a bit like our 2nd home on the water.
As I am trying to stay on top of the maintenance of the new engine, so as not to have any repeats of the breakdowns we suffered before, i brought her back to have a little service and check over. And to stock up on coal also.
It has so far been mild this winter but I doubt that will last so I am going to stock up a bit and get ahead of the game while we are here. Plus Iprefer to spend my money where I like the folks. Hate giving my cash to places that neither appreciate you or care about you.
It's a nice little spot here overlooking the countryside with the boats moored directly on the canal side.
It does feel a little odd being tied up alongside other boats but luckily we have met the owner of the boat we are tied up to before on our travels. We've actually moored next to her before and passed her at locks many months back so it's a little like meeting an old friend.
It's not something i'd like to do for very long though as we like to be out in the countryside on our own and not have any immediate neighbours. We like it like that. Feels more relaxed.
We will be back here again at some point in the future as I trust them to do work on the boat here. They always look after me and it usually costs me a lot less than I thought it would.
Great place for monochrome photos also !
