Hail to the Hive!
Being back in the UK after spending about 3 weeks in Egypt and coming back to drab, grey, wet, miserable weather is a proper downer. Being able to take street shots in Cairo or capture monochrome shots of the Pyramids was simply bliss from a photography perspective but now hmmmm. The challenge is real again.
But the #monomad posts recently have inspired me a little and shown me again how it’s possible to create something out of, seemingly, nothing. The challenge is in seeing the shot where other just look.
Now I’m not claiming that today’s monochrome offerings are works of photographic genius but I actually did enjoy casting my eye and looking for shots on a recent train ride from Newton Abbot to Exeter.
Sometimes, I thought to myself, the shot is right there like when the train stopped in the middle of nowhere and you just see it in your minds eye.
This is something I’ve always enjoyed #hive for and especially #monomad, as it’s given a bit of purpose, if you will, to my fondness for photography and specifically black and white photography.
So I may be back in the grey for a while but at least I can make use of the monochromatic weather to indulge in my favorite passtime. Imagery.
Because I really do……
