Hail to the Hive!
Well if any of y’all are ever visiting Egypt and want a spectacular view of the pyramids the I would urge you, very strongly, to stay at the Seven Pyramids Inn. Great views, sound and light show at night for free and the three brothers that run the place are superb and so chill.
There is alot of tourist harassment, on a friendly but constant level, in Cairo but once back on the rooftop at Seven Pyramids inn, all is relaxed and calm. It serves as not only a great viewing platform to one of the ancient wonders of the world, but also an oasis of calm after a day in the city.
I spent a lot of time on the rooftop just gazing out lost in my own thoughts, watching the chaos of afternoon visitors in their thousands amongst the camels, buses and horse drawn buggies.
And I had a lot of fun taking photos. These were a hoot to compare the ornamental pyramids and sphinx in the foreground with the real deal as a backdrop.
I think on one day I spent all day up there. Morning breakfast with pyramids, people watching and coffee and then beers and sunsets with added sphinx followed by sound and light show. Superb day.
I mean how often will we have the time to indulge in soaking up the ancient magnificence of these wonders in this way. I took full advantage and am already thinking of a return visit as there’s so much more to see.
I love Egypt, absolutely amazing it is on so many levels.
