Hail to the Hive!
One of the first places we explored on the Giza plateau, before we took our camel adventure, was the Valley Temple of Khafre. It sits directly in front of the Pyramid of Khafre and was incredibly well preserved.
As I have mentioned in previous posts we had the place to ourselves as we were the first people into the complex and it paid off being able to wander these ancient places alone.
You could drive yourself crazy trying to imagine how they could have possibly built all this over 4000 years ago but build it they did. And it survives to this very day.
Being alone meant I coukd take my time, snapping photos of this incredible temple and have no wandering tourists in the way. Amazing to be here in this world famous historical building alone, just and myself.
One of the most famous places on the planet, the pyramids, and we are practically here alone. Amazing!
We spent a while roaming the Temple of Khafre but with so much more beckoning us ,and knowing we had to make the most of this non busy window, we left to continue to explore.
But where does this lead I wonder? Having no map of the place ( we never saw one to purcase) we were roaming blind but this added to the feeling of discovery that I felt. A personal discovery, soaking it all in.
Oooh , well this looks promising. And then the view to my right…
