Hi friends
We started the week with black and white strings.
Nothing better than a boat to appreciate the different types of rope that exist, sailors call them corporals, but for the layman they are ropes.
Each one has its function and its movement has a reaction.
Like the photographs when you manipulate them (you edit, to be finer and more appropriate)
Here we can see them on a sunny Sunday in December and since it is Monday I have tied them with #monomad created by
I have always been impressed by the meters and meters of ropes that a sailboat like this can have, all in place, without tangling or knotting.
Sailors care a lot about the order and condition of these ropes, the navigation of the ship as well as their lives depend on them.
In the rough sea, the waves can be cruel and in those moments the sailor's hands work almost without thinking, so they have to be all in their place stretched and in good condition.
There is no time for doubt, not even seconds to think, they change course or hoist sails, whatever the moment requires.
Made of esparto or modern plastic, also new fibers, their mission is always the same, wrap the boat on all sides, act as a ladder and a grip for the anchor.
I like to see its texture and its nerve all the twisted fibers and in tension.
Happy week friends
