Well, I'm writing from this part of the world, but practically half the world is already in 2026. Right now, there's a little over an hour left until the start of the new year, and well, it's back to the usual routines, because that's life, a cycle that never stops. It's part of everything we do and everything we want to do. And for this occasion, I'm ending the year with this series of photographs that prominently feature nature and its details, especially in black and white, which I find perfect.
I love creating these compositions where contrast and texture are created in small details like a simple branch, a leaf, or any natural species I can capture. For me, it's perfect harmony. Just as a painter has always been influenced by nature, the same is true for photographers. Much of the inspiration for creating and portraying, for creating perspectives and ways of seeing this natural world, comes from there.
We moved away from nature's beautiful range of tones, desaturating them slightly, contrasting tones, and playing with lighting to create scenes where light has a greater impact on the subjects depicted.
All photographs are my own.
