Hello my #monomad friends, today I will share with you a peek into the Peranakan home. If you don't know what Peranakan is, let me explain. Peranakan sometimes referred to as the Straits Chinese or Straits-born Chinese, are an ethnic group settled through South East Asia during the migrations. They assimilated and made a whole new culture- It is a mixture of Chinese and other SEA countries. There is even a cuisine, fashion and special costume which live even today. Here I share with you a peek into the home which is today actually a Peranakan Museum. You can find it in Malaysia, Penang. A town where many Peranakan found their home and the heritage can still be seen all over the town.
