Good evening, #Monomad friends

The golden hour
Its presence is pure ecstasy. Nothing but perfect balance. Brief, yet ever-present. Subtle, yet striking. Unique, yet repeatable. Fleeting, yet singular.
On one of my trips to one of my favourite destinations in Portugal, Porto, I happened to be near the Church of the Holy Trinity, in Largo da Tranquilidade, and was simply killing time before dinner with friends. I didn’t have to keep checking my watch. Pure pleasure. Just for me. Time. Something so precious, yet we only truly appreciate it when we wish we could do more with it, or have more control over it, or when, on the other hand, we find ourselves in the presence of something wonderful, and let ourselves be lulled by the gentle slipping of time through our fingers.
In any case, and despite being armed with nothing more than a simple mobile phone, the opportunity that day was unique. I would never again witness the lengthening shadows of a late afternoon, on that day, 12 October 2024.
And that moment remains. And it will remain. And today, here, I want to share it with you. So that, even though you weren’t there, you can somehow have a glimpse, ‘in my own way’, of what I experienced.
I hope you enjoyed this unique moment, captured by me on one of the most beautiful avenues in the city of Porto, on a sunny late October afternoon.
I hope you enjoyed my post here in the B&W community
