In my last travel to Porto, when visiting my goddaughter family, I've passed by the Port of Leixões to accompany my good friend to check up on his vessel. I'm very proud about my friend's profession, since to be a fisherman in the 2022, when many restrictions and difficulties appear almost every week. When I told him that the photographs that I was taking would be used to publish in a online community of B&W photography users, we was interested in the theme that I was capturing.
Since for him, all the elements are job related, I hope that I can transmit all of you the simplicity and beauty of a simple harbor. The water reflections, like the seagulls and all the fishing artifacts, are in fact very photogenic elements.
This is part of one of the largest artificial harbors in Portugal (in fact is the second one, after Sines). It was built at the end of the 19th century and successively enlarged and improved to this day. Located at the mouth of the River Leça, in the municipality of Matosinhos.
The vessels got very original names, like this one that is named "My dream"
I hope that you liked my eleventh entry for the #monomad challenge!
